It's 2:52 a.m. on Sunday. I pull up my email in yahoo, and one of the headlines I see is that the great Freddy Fender has passed. I'm hurt. I'm saddened. I reflect. I just came back from doing a gig. One of the songs that I performed tonight was Wasted Days & Wasted Nights. Everyone applauded............but no one knew. Not one single person in that bar knew that Mr. Fender had gone to the "Hillbilly" Hall of Fame in the Sky.

Freddy, I grew up on Texas music. It will be apart of me forever. And with with all due respect, I will always continue due at least one of your songs in my show. To this day I do the same with Bob Wills.

My love and sympathy go out to your family and friends. I understand the pain. I understand that it's hard to accept. But they need to understand that you are finally free. Your in a better place, and you are DEFINATELY still alive in everyone's hearts.

For the rest of my life.... the last raindrop to fall out of the sky will always remind me of When The Next Teardrop Falls.

Will always love you and remember you Freddy.
