Some of my fondest memories from my younger days are walking into the house and hearing by older brothers' radio turned in to the best hits of the week and hearing Freddy Fender's voice sweetly almost speaking his songs into the hearts of a nation that was in the struggle of finding peace in a troubled world. The peace his soft vocals gave to a world in turmoil will not soon be forgotten. May the peace that you gave to all of us be returned to you and your family a hundredfold. I am sure that God was smiling looking down from the highest heavens while listening to your music and is now still smiling as He hears the songs sung before his throne. Rest in peace Freddy Fender, although many of us never really knew you, we will all miss you. Goodbye, so long and farewell.
