For the family the pain and finality of separation is difficult to bear. Know that He is with you. His Spirit Lives!
Up from El Rio Bravo he came with guitar in hand to play. He sang his way into the hearts of Texans and to countless fans in countless places across our globe. With crystal clarity his acappella-silver-tone moved with ease from el Ingles al Espanol and back; blending his Tejano spirit into the Anglo world of music. With remorse at his passing we say; adios Freddy Fender, mi amigo, vaya con Dios for we know that from your heart, ?the last teardrop fell?.

My prayers and thoughts to Freddy's familia. I know that you are with the creator now, all the pain is gone and there will be smiles as you look over your family and fans. I was a huge fan, your pictures are all over my home. Whenever you were in California and Nevada I was there to see your perfomances. I have so many pictures,I wanted to share with you & family when I heard you were ill, I didn't get the chance to do that before your passing. I will just keep them close and know that you were one of the greatest singers I have heard.

I made a dedication video to the great Freddy Fender on 10/15/06...please feel free to check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtaPmM-LwBg
...please leave a comment and rate the video. I am a huge fan of Freddy Fender whos music was introduced to me by my parents...I basically grew up listening to Freddy Fender. My regret is that I never got the opportunity to see him live in concert.

Let me start w/ my condolence's to the family on their loss of a beautiful artist. Not only have I lost an incredible TexMex singer, but my family has as well. He was always a part of our family functions, weddings and funerals through his music we found joy and sadness. He was my inspiration through my hardships in life. His music comfort my soul through many sleepless nights. As an artist Freddy Fender was a proud singer of our Mexican American heritage and he never forgot where he came from. I have followed Freddy when he visited Southern California and Laughlin, Nevada. Freddy's music was happy, sad and entertaining. His music will live forever. Freddy Fender is an artist that will truly be missed forever by many.

Gone but not forgotten. Your music touched the world. My sincerest condolences to Freddy's family.
I'll Be Seeing You..
I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day and through
In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carrousel
The chestnut trees
The wishing well
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you

My father always had Freddie's lp's playing on our stereo when we were growing up. He was proud to know he was a local boy.
My husband and I live in the same neighborhood as Freddie and my husband would often bump into him when walking to the corner store (Freddie with his cute dogs in tow). My husband said he was very nice and was happy to sign an autograph for my husband on a napkin from the convenience store. We will miss him and miss seeing him and his dogs on their walks. Our prayers are with his family.

The time for weeping
Vaya con dios, my darling
Vaya con dios, my love
Vaya Con Dios, Freddy - I will never forget you. Thanks for the good times your music brought me.
